Computer Design Engineer

  • Location: New York

Curtis Instruments, a Kohler Co., is looking to add a Computer Design Engineer to our talented team.  This critical role is responsible for digital and software design/analysis of ARM based UX platforms.  You will interface software with hardware design and development, handle requirements definition and test and documentation of digital systems.

This is a hybrid position, requiring 2 days a week in the office, which is located in Mt. Kisco, NY. 

What you’ll do:

  • Design, develop, diagnose, and operate complex embedded systems, that include MPUs, Ethernet, wireless, power management circuitry, CAN, USB, I2C, I2S, A/D, PWM, flash, RAM, etc.
  • Use CAE tools to design and analyze circuit board schematics to specification and work closely with circuit board designers to develop PCB layouts that meet industry standard compliance requirements.
  • Assist in the layout and construction prototypes, first generation products. Work on prototype validation and subsequent releases. 
  • Develop embedded software in a number of languages such as C, C++, Python, etc. for MCUs and MPUs on RTOS and Linux based systems.
  • Define, perform and supervise testing of components to determine suitability for a specific application, optimize solutions for cost efficiency.
  • Define, perform and supervise testing for design verification as defined in the product specification and task description.
  • Design, or assist in designing production test equipment and fixtures. Supervise the testing and qualification of pre-production and production prototypes.
  • Work with project schedules, specifications, schematics, verbal and written instructions. Specify and use a full range of electronic test equipment, computer hardware and software.
  • Provide technical input to Configuration Management so that appropriate documentation can be provided on a timely basis.
  • Write engineering reports, test reports, procedures, progress reports, application notes.
  • Perform failure analysis studies on a continuing basis and evaluate designs and follow through on needed modifications.
  • Work as part of interdepartmental project team. 
  • Train and provide technical guidance to technicians assigned to specific projects.
  • Provide technical support to less senior personnel and other operating departments as required, such as Sales, Customer support, Application Engineers, Customers.
  • Contribute in design reviews.
  • Travel to vender and customer sites to provide technical support when required.

What you'll need:

Education

  • BSEE or BSCE with emphasis on digital circuit design, embedded systems design, high level programming languages.

Experience

  • Two to three years’ experience as a Computer Engineer developing products for moderate to high volume production.
  • Expertise in embedded circuitry design.
  • Knowledge of design techniques for EMC / ESD
  • Strong C/C++/RTOS/Linux embedded programming skills and experience developing and debugging applications in embedded systems for ARM based microcontrollers and processors.
  • Experience with HMI tools/design, GUI integrated tools/design, capacitive touch LCD technology, IoT and wireless communication, camera interfaces, LCDs, Graphics accelerators
  • Demonstrated ability to work in all phases of the product development process from early development through production and able to apply appropriate analytical and experimental techniques.
  • Familiar with CAE software packages for PCs or workstations. Proficiency in schematic capture (Altium experience is a plus) and strong layout principles knowledge
  • Familiar with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review

Senior Embedded Software Engineer

This Senior Embedded Software Engineer position is located in our corporate office in Mt. Kisco, NY, and is a needed addition to our Engineering team. The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop and install software solutions; Support software QA and optimize I/O performance, analyze, monitor and improve efficiency and stability of the system, Interface with hardware design and development; requirements definition, testing and documentation of software systems, including embedded applications support.

This is a hybrid position, requiring flexibility to go into the office up to two times a week, or as needed.

What you’ll do:

  • Design, develop, modify, implement, and support software components anywhere in the Software stack.
  • Develop software / firmware in C, C++, C# or other selected languages for Curtis products and / or applications, in accordance with applicable software development methodologies and release processes.

  • Experience developing PC applications in C#, C++, or similar language. Experience with Qt a plus.

Senior Project Leader

  • Location: New York

Curtis Instruments, a Kohler Co., is looking to add a Sr. Project Leader to our team to design instrumentation products for a wide variety of vehicle types.   You will work with an interdisciplinary team of talented engineers to accomplish this goal.  You will plan, schedule and execute all phases of product development from design through production release.  This is a technical position, we are not looking for a Program Manager.

This position is located in our corporate office in Mount Kisco, NY and is a needed addition to our Engineering team. 

Once you are up to speed on Curtis' processes, this position will be a hybrid role requiring at least two times a week in the office, with flexibility as needed.

We are looking for someone who will:

  • Plan, organize, lead, and track the design and release of HMI, Instrumentation and support products.
  • Interface directly with customers, sales and product management to define and develop products.
  • Estimate cost and schedule for work to be performed, and ensure that work is completed within the estimated cost and schedule.
  • Conduct status and design reviews on a regular basis and provide project status reports to management.

Manager, Accounting Operations

We are seeking a Manager, Accounting Operations, to be a hands-on leader for our Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll teams, applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information and prepare accurate, timely financial reports for the company under U.S. GAAP. What you’ll do:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounting team including collections and accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll processing. Assist in leading the month-end close.

  • Establish and ensure proper accounting methods, policies and principles are maintained.
  • Identify, recommend and implement process improvements within areas of responsibility to improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
  • Review aged trial balances of accounts payable and accounts receivable, weekly A/P payments and weekly payroll entries, and balance sheet recs where applicable.
  • Document accounting processes and procedures to help build SOPs for departments. Maintain up-to-date documentation for the Accounting department.

What you need:

  • Active CPA is required with high competence in interpreting and applying U.S. GAAP.

Manager, Treasury

We are seeking a Manager, Treasury to lead our global treasury operations. This newly created position is important to Curtis’ ongoing profitable growth. Particular focus will be required to monitor and safeguard the assets of Curtis Instruments through the daily monitoring and planning of worldwide cash, working hand-in-hand with finance colleagues across the globe. This role will oversee treasury activities to guarantee the financial transactions, policies, and procedures meet the organizations and regulatory body requirements. What you’ll do:

  • Leadership and oversight of the company’s treasury activities. This includes: developing and supporting treasury policies, procedures, and internal controls; monitoring and managing the organization’s liquidity position; assessing, analyzing, and quantifying financial risks, including market risk, liquidity risk, and interest rate risk, to identify potential threats to the organization's financial stability; managing worldwide inter-company cash such as inter-company funding (review AP/AR balances and recommend offsets); and monitoring cash globally on a daily basis.
  • Prepare six-week cash forecast weekly with our international subsidiaries; plan audit schedules and respond to field-related questions from auditors; and participate in the budget process.
  • Develop and implement strategies for excess fund utilization, working capital optimization, and hedging to mitigate exposure to market risks, including FOREX and interest rate risks.
  • Lead special initiatives such as centralized cash management, cash pooling, and ad-hoc requests.
  • Train and guide colleagues on cash management-related processes, and identify ways to streamline current practices in global sites.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships internally with colleagues and externally with banks.
  • Detailed account analysis on various BS and P&L accounts related to cash; record cash receipts ensuring reconciliation of GL and bank; verifying ACH and wire transfer accuracy; economic analysis of macro trends that can impact the business.
  • Communicate effectively with finance leadership on the company’s consolidated current and forecasted cash position, bank fees, and trends in the treasury community.
  • Abide by all company and regulatory laws, policies, and procedures.

What you need:

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in corporate accounting in cash management or treasury environment, including extensive experience with foreign currency and international markets.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting | MBA or Master’s degree preferred.

  • Review, analyze, and coordinate the issuance of reports including: Monthly Manufacturing, Engineering Project, Consolidated Gross Margin, and Consolidated Inventory reports.
  • Support and assist Cost Accountants and Finance Managers across sites on manufacturing transactions, labor rates, and associated costs to ensure they’re recorded accurately, timely, and in accordance with policy.

What you'll do:

 

  • Support the Monthly Financial Close Process. This includes: assisting in the close process (elimination entries, statutory vs. management reporting, etc.), using our ERP (Syteline) and Consolidations (OneStream) applications, working to meet the close schedule, participating in close meetings, Super User for OneStream, and assist in data submission to Group.
  • Accounting Support for International Subsidiaries. This includes: Providing guidance/training on US GAAP and corporate accounting policies, assisting in financial performance reviews of subsidiaries, assisting statutory reporting, audits, and board meetings, and periodically visiting locations to audit and ensure compliance.
  • Assist with actions to improve business performance at subsidiaries. This includes: actions to improve working capital metrics, actions to improve close and accounting processes, leading local teams in creating/implementing controls and policies for statutory requirements, and training financial staff.
  • Perform analysis of financial data from subsidiary companies, including a review of variances in the balance sheet and income statement.
  • Assist with Capital requests for subsidiaries; and in monthly reporting of capital expenditures and depreciation expense.
  • Support audit requests (internal/external).
  • Assist with statutory audits at subsidiary companies.

What you'll need:

 

  1. 3-5 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting (International experience required).
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance | CPA required.
  3. MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
  4. Superior ability to collaborate with colleagues around the world, including understanding and respecting differences in working cultural styles, language, etc.
  5. Problem-solving, analytical skills, solid business judgment, and excellent communication skills.
  6. Keen attention to detail with utmost ethical and business integrity.
  7. Ability to communicate to all organizational levels in a financial and managerial capacity.
  8. A proactive self-starter with a curious mindset is a must.
  9. Ability and willingness to travel 10% of the year.

Director of Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP)

  • Location: New York

The Director of Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) is a key leadership position, reporting directly to the VP and General Manager, Curtis. This position will require an experienced /SIOP leader able to facilitate and drive results in a fast paced and demanding growth environment, leveraging strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

This role will be challenged to implement a fit for purpose SIOP process for Curtis to improve customer satisfaction, profitability, inventory turns, lead times and working capital. The core functions of the position include strategic and tactical decision-making processes related to balancing demand and supply; aligning volume and mix with capacity and capability; and integrating financial and operating plans within strategic objectives to deliver improved operating and financial results.

This is a hybrid position, requiring flexibility to go into our Mount Kisco, New York office up to two times a week, or as needed.

What you'll do:

  • This position is responsible for developing a fit for purpose SIOP strategy and execution;
  • Prepare data and material for monthly SIOP meetings that will facilitate decisions around production planning, equipment, labor and all other resources needed to support demand over the SIOP planning horizon. Coordinate and facilitate the monthly SIOP meetings to achieve the demand plan consensus including strategic, product, sales, and marketing activities as well as supply plan balance and constraints/gaps.
  • Leads cross functional teams in relation to international inventory related matters, including Transportation, Operations, Inventory, and Planning;
  • Responsible for capacity modeling processes, as well as establishing governance regarding adjustments to forecasting and order backlog, and assumptions that revise capacity;
  • Manage the aggregation of the demand plan process, producing a rolling 12-18 month estimate of unconstrained future demand in units.
  • Assist in the documentation of assumptions incorporated in the demand and supply plan and validate past assumptions.
  • Develop support metrics, tools and reporting that will enable Manufacturing plants and Procurement teams to achieve these service level and inventory targets.
  • Track performance metrics and analysis to identify both opportunities and potential issues within SIOP processes and reporting as well as those across departments; provide insights and recommendations to help improve results.
  • Work closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, and Logistics; Distribution to evaluate the demand/production plan against inventory, capacity and external factors and to create mitigation actions if needed.
  • Identify significant business risks and escalate to the appropriate leadership teams.
  • Ensure efficient communication across functional teams for any trends, drivers, and takeaways in a clear and concise manner.

What you need:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics. MBA or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Supply Chain (experience in Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and Inventory Planning in an environment of both manufactured and highly engineered).
  • Knowledge and experience in MRP and ERP systems inventory control, materials requirements planning, item master, demand planning, and advanced supply chain planning and analytics preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of Supply Chain network design, planning, and optimization
  • 8+ years of leading cross-functional S&OP/S&OE events
  • 8+ years of inventory management, planning, forecasting and transportation, DC Operations
  • 8+ years of Merchandise Planning Management, Demand Planning and Supply Chain Forecasting
  • 5+ years of senior leadership experience with proven ability to hire, mentor and train large cross-functional teams
  • People management experience including strong interpersonal and leadership skills: meeting facilitation, skill sharing and training, organization, conflict management, change agent, manage relationships.

Preferred Qualification:

 

  • MBA or Master's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain
  • Experience designing supply chain models
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma process improvement methodologies
  • APICS Certification preferred.
