Basic Duties

 

  • Regular inspection and monitoring of the condition of the building, including electrical, plumbing, and heating systems.
  • Coordinates with outside contractors and vendors repairing of any damage to structural elements such as walls, roofs, windows, and doors with external company.
  • Maintaining  and coordinating with outside contractors and vendors heating, air conditioning, ventilation systems and pluming.
  • Servicing electrical installations, lighting, and power lines.
  • Ensuring proper functioning of emergency and fire protection systems.

  • Responding to emergency situations and ensuring prompt troubleshooting of faults.

  • Responsible for disposal of hazardous wastes material according to the government regulations
  • Preparing reports regarding waste of the building and manufacturing
  • Collaborating with other departments to resolve issues related to manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinating with external contractors for repair and construction activities.
  • Responsible for communication  and coordination with electricity company, water company, garbage company etc.
  • Adhering to all regulatory standards and procedures for safety and environmental requirements.
  • Preparing documentation for inspections and ensuring compliance with regulations.

 

Keeps his/her work place clean and tidy. Abides by the Internal rules of C/B (C/B Manual) and the safety rules. Informs his/her direct superior of all problems that have arisen in the course of his/her work and implements all written and oral orders coming from him, besides the above-mentioned basic duties.

  • Manage the purchase of all materials for Curtis/Balkan Ltd. manufacturing, and provide arrangements to enable materials pulls.

  • Collects and send data for suppliers’ performance, necessary corrective actions, targets (including reduction of prices) and other requirements to the suppliers.
  • Monitors and controls slow-moving materials and organizes their transfer to Curtis subsidiary, resale or scrap.
  • Provide supply assistance and guidance to Curtis’ international subsidiaries, as required
  • Ensure accurate costing of purchased materials, monitor cost variances of purchased materials and informs other departments involved.
  • Ensure that “levels and limits” policies are adhered to for all orders, freight, scrap, etc.
  • Ensure the timely submission of CBAM reports to the relevant institutions

Opportunity to offer Engineering support of a product development and continuation team. This is an essential cross functional visible position within the Curtis-UKEC Engineering organization to be responsible to test, validate and qualify newly developed power electronic products against their requirements, to achieve a high-quality and robust end product. This role will involve working closely with the entire new product development R&D team (including hardware/software and Mechanical Engineering), as well as project management and product/quality management. You will be responsible for following a New Product Integration Verification and Validation test plan, helping create test criteria/procedures, identifying, specifying and creating any necessary test environment, test and troubleshoot electronic assemblies, components and circuits (primarily for the power conversion sector ). Perform and document a full suite of tests (cross referencing the specification requirements) and independently determining compliance or not. Identifying and managing risks, making sound judgments about quality and the release of product or a change to an existing product.

 

What you will do:

  • Commission, Debug electronic circuits, components and PCB assemblies for new product development and sustaining projects.

  • Design, setup and run tests to ensure the design meets specifications.

  • Maintain records and documentation on all tests and analysis.

  • Use industry standard development systems to achieve traceability and cross referencing for V&V.

  • Work within a small design team to complete assigned objectives.

  • Troubleshoot circuits from prototypes, development, and customer returns.

  • Be the key interface for overall system (HW/SW) for validation and alignment on test plan, priorities and execution.

  • Work with Engineering to improve checklist of verification and validation tests and to define criteria for entry into Validation phase. Identify and resolve validation blockers.

  • Drive closure of issues/findings.

  • Establish a disciplined reporting and communication dashboard of project risks & status with respect to quality and readiness for release.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferably with bias towards power electronics).

  • 3 years hands-on experience in a production test and/or QA Validation role at system level (HW/SW)

  • Experience of working with systems at high voltage (100V to 1000Vdc) or high current (50A to 1000A).

  • An intuitive and practical disposition

  • An understanding of Safe practice (H&S)

  • Knowledge of analog or digital implementation of embedded controls and switching for power electronic operation.

  • Knowledge of switching power converters (preferably Motor drives and controls or SMPS). Knowledge and experience in QMS ISO 9001, TS 16949, or ISO 26262

  • Knowledge and experience in applicable product regulatory standards such as (EN1175, EN13849, UL 0583, and EN12895).

The Curtis Instruments Building, Ground Facilities Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all building maintenance and improvement projects are performed in a timely and cordial manner with minimal supervision. This Building, Ground Facilities Coordinator must be able to manage the scheduling, service and performance of all outside service contractors and develop & review contracts as required.

Responsibilities

  • Identify major categories of work; focus on essential duties.

  • Prioritize and fulfill approved work order requests for all buildings and grounds projects, and communicate status of resolution.

  • Manage the use of B&G related contractors including HVAC, Cleaning, Plumbing, Garbage, Electric etc. Generate and review all contracts to ensure appropriate services are rendered and financial exposure is minimized.

  • Develop and maintain a maintenance schedule for fire extinguishers, safety lights, and periodic equipment maintenance.

  • Establish preventive maintenance schedules to support all HVAC and boiler equipment.

  • Perform routine building maintenance, such as painting of offices and hallways on a flexible work schedule. Carry out work relating to company events and department reorganizations.

  • Conduct weekly walk-arounds in both buildings and provide a proactive approach to the resolution of pending issues such as carpet stains, touch-up painting, changing of light bulbs, proper routing of wires, door/door closer adjustment etc.

  • Seek out and resolve safety related problems such as trip hazards, broken electrical fixtures, sharp edges, unsteady furniture and the like. Carry out and document periodic safety audits for all buildings and grounds.

  • Take responsibility for building access, distribution and registry of key holders and the maintenance of the master key log and key safe.

  • Ensure all company vehicles (including fork lift trucks) are properly maintained.

  • Ensure utility rooms are safe, tidy, organized and clear of debris.

  • Maintain all trash containers and ensure all interior and exterior areas are tidy and free from debris.

  • Handle any permit or inspections that may be required by the Town of Mount Kisco or other authorities.

  • Become the EHS Coordinator for the Mount Kisco campus.

  • On call 24hrs. /day 7 days/week to address emergency issues.

  • Any other tasks as assigned 

 

The Building, Ground Facilities Coordinator is expected to:

  • Be proactive in seeking out problems and improvement opportunities.

  • Be a hands-on contributor for building and maintenance work.

  • Take responsibility for safety in all internal and external areas.

  • Coordinate, manage and evaluate facility service providers for both buildings.

  • Balance all the routine maintenance requirements with the planning, assessment and scheduling of outside services/contractors within a dynamic environment.

 

Requirements

Education

  • Equivalent to an apprentice/trades license in any of the following trades: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, etc.

Experience

  • Trades experience, performing general duties in a combination of trades.

Independently design, prototype, test, troubleshoot and repair power electronic systems and assemblies (typically Motor Drives and ‘static power conversion’ but not exclusively). What you will need:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent, plus 7 years experience in power electronics design, Motor Drives or static power conversion.

  • Experience of designing power circuitry to operate at low voltage/high current 12V/24V/48V and 200A to 1500A

  • Experience of designing power circuitry to operate at High voltage/high current 300V to 1000V and 200A to 800A

  • Experience with different power silicon technologies and ability to choose the best solution for the requirements

  • Experience of gate drive circuits and technologies.

  • Experience of designing low voltage signal level control circuits (micro processors, pwm generation, signal conditioning)

  • Experience with design of electromagnetic components (high frequency transformers, filter chokes).

  • Experience of product safety requirements (functional safety as well as electrical safety and isolation systems).

  • Demonstrated ability to develop designs to meet project costs, performance and schedules.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of good engineering practices.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory standards and design to meet them.

  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacture and Test.

  • Work within a small design team to complete assigned objectives.

  • Troubleshoot circuits from prototypes, development, and customer returns.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferably with bias towards power electronics).

  • 3 years hands-on experience in a production test and/or QA Validation role at system level (HW/SW)

  • Experience of working with systems at high voltage (100V to 1000Vdc) or high current (50A to 1000A).

  • An intuitive and practical disposition

  • An understanding of Safe practice (H&S)

  • Knowledge of analog or digital implementation of embedded controls and switching for power electronic operation.

  • Knowledge of switching power converters (preferably Motor drives and controls or SMPS). Knowledge and experience in QMS ISO 9001, TS 16949, or ISO 26262

  • Knowledge and experience in applicable product regulatory standards such as (EN1175, EN13849, UL 0583, and EN12895).

  • Knowledge of ESD/EMC principles and practices.

  • Knowledge of circuit analysis, and design of experiments.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • PC literate with experience in MS Office and databases (good and thorough documentation skills).
