For electric vehicles (EVs), Curtis designs, manufactures and markets battery monitors, speed controllers, battery chargers and power converters. In 1960, Edward Marwell and his then partner Curtis Beusman founded Curtis Instruments, Inc. With fewer than 10 people working in a small Mt. Kisco storefront, Curtis produced highly accurate timers, which NASA built into every major electronic system of Lunar Landing Modules, starting with the first moon landing in 1969.
The small business quickly earned a reputation for innovation and excellence. Over the next forty-seven years, Curtis developed into a world leader in electric vehicle technology and established a global subsidiary network.
